The Mexican Delegation at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 made history by breaking its record of gold medals.

At the same time, the Mexican Delegation at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 surpassed the number of medals won away from home.

In total, they obtained 37 medals established in the competition held in Lima, Peru in 2019.

The Mexican Delegation at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 dominated in 8 disciplines, among them are; Diving, Basque Ball, Taekwondo, Modern Pentathlon, Racquetball, Artistic Swimming and Soccer.

Combat

Diving

The Mexican delegation managed to win almost all the gold medals in the diving discipline, winning eight medals out of a possible 10.

Basque Pelota

Of the eight modalities of the Pelota Vasca discipline, Mexico was on all the podiums, winning gold in six of them and two silver medals.

The gold metal were in the disciplines of men’s and women’s Frontball (David Alvarez and Itzel Reyes); men’s and women’s rubber ball (Isaac Perez and Marifer Noriega); men’s and women’s frontenis (Isaac Cruz with Jorge Olvera & Ximena Placido and Ariana Cepeda). While in the men’s and women’s doubles trinquete, the silver medal was obtained.

Modern Pentathlon

Among the Mexican Delegation at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 was another discipline where they had no rival to compete.

Emiliano and Duilio Carrillo did 1-2 in the men’s singles; while in the women’s singles the sisters Oliver, Mayan and Catherine did it in the women’s rank.

The Mexican Delegation also won gold in the men’s, women’s and mixed relays, the latter thanks to the talent of Tamara Vega and Manuel Padilla.

Racquetball

3 golds, 1 silver and 3 bronzes, were the harvest for the Mexican delegation in racquetball, with Paola Longoria being the most outstanding by winning 2 gold metals and one silver.

Artistic Swimming

In this discipline, Joana Jiménez and Nuria Diosdado, have won everything and have their sights set on the Olympic Games.

Soccer

Mexico had both its men’s and women’s teams on the podium.

The girls won the gold medal against the host team by one goal to zero, while the men’s team defeated the United States 4-1 for the bronze medal.
