Her father died on the night of May 8, 2008, on the eve of Mother’s Day, as a result of an armed attack against him while he was with others in the parking lot of the Tres Ríos Urban Development shopping center.
After the death of Édgar Guzmán, his mother rebuilt her romantic life and married the boxer Julio César Chávez Jr., with whom Frida Sofía maintains a good relationship.
Despite her connections to known drug traffickers, the young woman has stayed away from that scenario and has focused on building a musical career in the regional Mexican genre.
Currently, el Chapo Guzmán’s granddaughter has 108 thousand followers on Instagram, a social network where she frequently shares performances of songs by Juan Gabriel, Gloria Trevi, Rocío Dúrcal, and Jenni Rivera, among others.
