Marcelo Ebrard is threatening to leave MORENA: Again
Marcelo Ebrard is threatening to leave MORENA if the party does not hold a new consultation. The former presidential candidate for Morena has set an ultimatum for the party leadership to redo the process.
Marcelo Ebrard is threatening to leave Morena, and if his request is not heard, he has threatened to abandon the movement. In a press conference, the former chancellor demanded that his complaint filed with the National Commission for Honesty and Justice of Morena be addressed.
In the complaint, he requested evidence of alleged use of public resources, welfare programs, and the involvement of government officials.
“We await Morena’s response, its leadership, its internal organs. If, in their view, everything I have just written, what we have presented, the documented grievances, did not happen, then my decision would be not to continue participating because such behaviors and practices are not acceptable,” he asserted.
Ebrard emphasized that the “open use of public resources to support one of the aspirants” is unacceptable.
This time, the former aspirant did not mention that he would be on the ballot with another organization; his first step is threatening to leave MORENA.
On the other hand, Ebrard ruled out that this is a tantrum for losing to Claudia Sheinbaum.
He highlighted that he has been raising these concerns since the beginning of the process.
Again: Ebrard threatens to leave MORENA
“We filed the appeal within our party with all the elements of conviction, testimonies, and evidence that what I am saying is true; I have never lied, I have no reason to do so; it is not an outburst, it is a conviction,” he stated.
Regarding President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Ebrard commented that he has immense affection for the president. “I have been his most loyal collaborator. I would never harm him for political reasons, but I have to say this because Morena took a lot of work to organize and build,” he noted.
Finally, he announced that next week, he will establish his own national political movement with which he intends to travel across the country. However, he insisted that the members will continue in their respective parties.
“Starting on September 18th, we will organize and formalize our national political movement. We are still part, comrades, and I hope the voice of Morena, several members of the Verde party, and several members of the PT are still part of it, but we have a cause to defend,” he emphasized.
