Donald Trump considers himself a political dissident

And now, Donald Trump considers himself a political dissident, as he stated during a speech at the annual conservative CPAC convention.

In the midst of a speech loaded with much eloquence, Trump considers himself a political dissident where he highlighted the presence of the president of Argentina, Javier Milei.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump (2017-2021) introduced himself this Saturday, February 24, as a “proud political dissident” at the annual U.S. conservative convention CPAC.

The speech was witnessed by leaders of the extreme right such as the Argentine president, Javier Milei.

In this regard, Trump considers himself a political dissident, who said once again that he is fond of right-wing conservative policies.

“I stand before you today not only as your past and hopefully future president, but also as a proud political dissident. I am a dissident,” the former Republican leader said without hesitation.

Since the death a week ago of the Russian political dissident Alexei Navalni in the prison where he was being held – a death for which the US government blames Vladimir Putin – Trump has dedicated himself to comparing himself with him.

This speech contrasts with the accusations of Biden, who recalled Putin’s friendship with Trump.

While Navalni was serving time for his criticism of Putin, Trump is charged with 91 counts and will face four civil trials for crimes such as bribery, attempting to invalidate an election or illegally withholding classified documents.

Trump considers himself a political dissident who participated this Saturday in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that began last Wednesday, in which figures of the national and international extreme right have participated.

Trump considers himself a political dissident in the presence of Nayib Bukele, president of El Salvador; Milei; the president of the Spanish far-right party VOX, Santiago Abascal or the son of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Eduardo Bolsonaro.

The last three were present this Saturday, present at Trump’s speech, one of the most awaited by dozens of attendees at the great congress of the US extreme right, which this year served to position Trump as the only Republican candidate for the next presidential elections.

Trump reiterated his status

In a speech, Trump considers himself a political dissident and made constant references to President Joe Biden -who is expected to be his rival next November- and numerous mockeries, verbally and through mimicry, laughing at his advanced age.

And he again referred to himself as the victim of a political hunt against him carried out by “corrupt Joe Biden”.

“Not even Al Capone has been imputed so many times”, he affirmed.

According to the former president, next November 5, when the United States holds elections, will be “the new Liberation Day” from “the liars, cheats, swindlers, censors and impostors who have taken over” the government.

Although Trump knows he is the favorite and the numbers prove him right, the Republican convention where the candidate will be formally chosen is still five months away.

After participating in CPAC, Trump will travel to South Carolina, where elections are being held this Saturday as part of the primary process.

The convention included a score of names of potential candidates among which are Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina; legislator Elise Stefanik of New York or Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio.

Some of them have taken the stage of the convention center where CPAC is being held to present their blind and unconditional support to the former president.
