AMLO Wouldn’t Take a Photo with the President of Peru
The President of Mexico wouldn’t take a photo with the President of Peru, as the Mexican leader stated during his morning program.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) mentioned that he won’t seek to take a photograph with Dina Boluarte.
AMLO questioned the treatment received by the Mexican ambassador to Peru, who was expelled in December 2022.
These political decisions have led to the determination that AMLO wouldn’t take a photo with the President of Peru, Dina Boluarte.
During his press conference on November 9, the president highlighted the work of consuls and ambassadors of his country, including Pablo Monroy, who served in Peru until he was expelled after the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs received and granted asylum to Pedro Castillo’s wife in December of last year.
“I hope I don’t have to take the photo. I don’t want to. I say this with all my affection, my good faith, I don’t want to take a photo with the president of Peru. I’m not going to seek her out to take a photo,” he commented.
Photo with the President of Peru: No
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico endorsed the work of the expelled Mexican ambassador in Peru and stated that he doesn’t want a photo with Dina Boluarte.
The next opportunity for AMLO and Dina Boluarte to cross paths could be at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum, which the President of Peru will attend in the coming days, held in the United States.
“Relations were not broken. However, the treatment they gave to our ambassador was rude, humiliating,” evaluated López Obrador, recalling the incident with Monroy.
This new statement adds to the long list of criticisms and questions that AMLO has made in support of Pedro Castillo, even after the latter carried out a coup on December 7, 2022.
