The Mini Tri attempted to secure a spot in the quarterfinals to continue in the competition; however, the Africans were much stronger, leading 3-0 within the first 15 minutes.

Mahamoud Barry opened the scoring at the 9th minute with a fantastic goal, and just four minutes later, he added a second for himself and his team. At the 13th minute, Ibrahim Diarra extended the lead to 3-0.

There was more to come in the first half as the referee awarded a penalty, allowing Ibrahim Kantaé to score confidently, making it 4-0 before halftime.

In the second half, the situation did not improve for the Mini Tri, as Mali added a fifth goal just five minutes into the half, courtesy of Ange Martial Ta.

That sealed the fate of the Mexico U17 national team, and Mali managed the game, thinking ahead to their upcoming quarterfinal match.

The rest of the match continued without much to offer for the Mexicans, making it a mere formality for Mali to secure their place in the quarterfinals. Now, they will await their next opponent, whom they will face on the 25th of this month.
