The latest polls favor Claudia Sheinbaum. However, Xóchitl Gálvez is not concerned about it, at least that’s what she expressed.
Xóchitl Gálvez, the virtual presidential candidate of the Broad Front for Mexico, dismissed any worries about Claudia Sheinbaum’s lead.
Some polls released on October 4th reveal a clear advantage for Claudia Sheinbaum.
“Don’t worry, this hasn’t really started yet. Let her run alone; let them take away the ‘big money’ she got from all the ‘big shots’ who poured over a billion pesos into her campaign,” she said in statements in the Senate.
On October 4th, El Universal reported that Claudia Sheinbaum is leading with 50 percent of the preferences. On the other hand, Gálvez, who is part of the PAN-PRI-PRD alliance, received 20 percent of the support.

Another poll conducted by El Financiero shows a 9-point difference between Sheinbaum (46 percent) and Gálvez (37 percent). This survey was published before Morena and the Broad Front for Mexico chose both politicians as their coordinators last September.
In this regard, Gálvez emphasized that the owner of the reins in Morena “has the full support” of the Presidency of the Republic, a fact that doesn’t deter her.
As an example, she mentioned the election for the head of the Miguel Hidalgo delegation that she won in 2015. Gálvez said that in those elections, the polls initially put her at a disadvantage of 25 percentage points.
The senator mentioned that “there’s a chance for me now,” referring to the official pre-campaign period set by the National Electoral Institute (INE) from November 13 of this year to January 3, 2024.
“Now I tell all my supporters: We have to work hard; we’re going to have everyone against us, everyone coming at us,” she warned.
Recently, Gálvez confirmed that she agreed to receive protection from a security detail provided by the Secretariat of National Defense, which will accompany her on her tours. Meanwhile, the security operation will also be available to Claudia Sheinbaum.
While the polls favor Claudia Sheinbaum, the candidate continues her tour of the country, rallying support for 2024. On the afternoon of Thursday, October 5th, the national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation and virtual presidential candidate for Morena, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, led a private meeting with the party’s membership in the Red Room Toluca, in the Mexican capital.
For Saturday, October 7th, Claudia Sheinbaum will visit Guadalajara. With the slogan “Together for the transformation. Stronger than ever,” it was announced that the former chief of government of Mexico City will meet with supporters.
