Yulimar was born in Caracas, but grew up in Puerto La Cruz.

At first she was interested in volleyball, a sport she played as a hobby for a few years.

Excited by the Venezuelan national team that went to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she went to the local sports center where there were no coaches.

But the athletics coaches saw her and became interested in her.

Thus, at the age of 15 he participated in the XVIII National Games in Lara, winning the high jump event with 1.70 meters.

He achieved his first international success at the 2011 South American Youth Athletics Championships, where he won the high jump event with 1.78 meters.

At the XVI National Student Games in 2012 she won the 100 meters hurdles, making a time of 14.81 seconds.

In 2013 she participated in the Grand Prix Ximena Restrepo, winning gold in high jump, with a height of 1.76 meters.

That same year he improved his personal best of 1.87 m (6 ft 1 1/2 in) with a jump in Barquisimeto, which was a South American youth record.

Two international silver medals came that year at the 2013 Pan American Youth Athletics Championships, and the Bolivarian Games, where she was second to Kashani Ríos.

She also competed in the long jump in the latter case placing sixth.

The improvement in his new event, he had a best of 6.23 m (20 ft) in 51/4 in the long jump that year.

The athlete Yulimar Rojas established herself as the best of her country in jumps at the 2015 Venezuelan Championships.

At the age of nineteen, she won the continental triple jump title at the 2015 South American Athletics Championships, taking gold on her debut in the competition.

In 2015 he moved to Guadalajara, Spain, to continue his athletic training under the orders of former Cuban athlete Ivan Pedroso.

In these games, her first jump, of 15.41 meters, beat the Olympic record that Françoise Mbango Etone had achieved in Beijing 2008.

On March 20, 2022, he broke the world record again with a jump of 15.74 m in the final of the Indoor World Championships, a title he won for the third time in a row.

On August 25, 2023, Yulimar Rojas becomes the first four-time champion of the outdoor triple jump, with 15.08 meters in the last attempt.

She is the most awarded athlete in the history of competition in this outdoor discipline.
