More productions of Mexican stories on Netflix are coming soon, as part of the platform’s strategy to expand the value of Mexican culture.
In addition, Mexico has become a large market with many followers, not only in this country, but also in other parts of the world.
The upcoming productions of Mexican stories on Netflix are based on stories of Aztec culture or very popular characters.
The audiovisual platform Netflix announced this Friday that this 2024 it will continue with its commitment that “Mexico is seen on the screens as it is”.
This year Netflix will launch nine projects with that goal.
“This diverse, complex, immensely rich, sometimes contradictory Mexico, with enormous possibilities, is what inspires and motivates us, and keeps us with an eye always on the best stories, so that our offer is increasingly ambitious,” said the company about the new productions of Mexican stories on Netflix.

He also indicated that they will continue to explore the identity of Mexico through bets such as the film adaptation of ‘Pedro Páramo’, based on the novel by Juan Rulfo.
This production will be based on one of the most important works of Mexican and Latin American literature, and will be directed by award-winning filmmaker Rodrigo Prieto.

“Gringo Hunters” will show an elite Mexican police unit that catches fugitives on the run to Mexico, based on an article by Kevin Sieff and to be filmed in the border city of Tijuana.
Meanwhile, ‘Nadie nos vio partir’, based on the novel by Tamara Trottner, is a series that chronicles a mother’s quest to recover her children kidnapped by her husband, all wrapped up in the confrontation between the two most powerful families in the Jewish community in the 1960s.
Mexican productions on Netflix don’t stop
Another of the Mexican story productions on Netflix would be “Celda 211” based on the novel by Francisco Perez Gandul that tells of a confrontation in the Social Reinsertion Center for Adults 3 in Ciudad Juarez, northern state of Chihuahua, on December 31, 2022 and the limited series will be directed by Jaime Reynoso and Gerardo Naranjo.
“Las hermanas Guerra” is a series created by José Ignacio ‘Chaseas’ Valenzuela that will be directed by Carlos Villegas and Iker Dupeyron and will tell the story of intense rivalry between sisters Perla and Antonia.
“Las Locuras” is the next film by Mexican-Colombian director Rodrigo Garcia and will explore how people are pushed to the limit to rebel against confinement, self-censorship and family pressure.
Finally, another of the Mexican story productions on Netflix is “The biggest fan” is a feature film directed by María Torres that in a comedy key tells the story of Lana Cruz (Kate del Castillo), an actress who returns to Mexico after being canceled in Hollywood, and will meet her biggest fan who becomes a nightmare.
