Nukhba, the elite group of Hamas

The elite group of Hamas is being sought, in this regard, the Israeli government is searching for the members of the Nukhba organization.

“We know from our investigations and interrogations of captured terrorists that it was Nukhba, the elite group of Hamas,” said Roni Kaplan, spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces.

The military explained that the majority of the terrorists who entered on Saturday, October 7th, belong to this elite Hamas group.

The Army is pursuing the elite Hamas group, those who are still within Israeli territory.

More than 1,500 fighters died on the day of the attack due to the soldiers‘ response and the “brave actions of the civilian population,” Kaplan points out.

However, many of the elite Hamas group members are still inside, and there are those who are still attempting to infiltrate.

“The massacre we witnessed with our own eyes was a massacre of people from 0 to 100 years old, with violations, amputations…” the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces details, still deeply affected.

“The south is a closed military zone, and even at this very moment, we have terrorists engaged in close combat, hiding in houses, closets…” the military reports.

Kaplan emphasizes the central role of the Nukhba group, the elite group of Hamas. It was this squad that spearheaded the brutal attacks last Saturday, which have already left more than 1,300 dead.

The elite group of Hamas

He explains that “due to the amount of equipment they brought and the quantity of ammunition they had, it is clear that this was not just a raid, but rather the intention was a prolonged occupation of southern Israel.”

The group’s name comes from “Al-Nukhba,” which means “elite” in Arabic, and it is the primary combat unit in the ranks of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

It is composed of highly trained and experienced fighters equipped with the most advanced weapons and technology.

The elite Hamas group consists of highly operational personnel designated to carry out terrorist attacks such as ambushes, incursions, assaults, infiltration through terrorist tunnels, as well as anti-tank missile fire, rockets, and snipers.

The Nukhba group is especially trained in hostage-taking, a tactic frequently employed by Hamas and chillingly successful in last Saturday’s attack.

“We have 97 confirmed hostages, but the number is constantly updating and growing,” Kaplan warns.

Images of the attackers entering the Kibbutz early Saturday morning have been released.

In their “Operation Iron Swords,” Israel has already attacked and bombed their operational command centers in Gaza, typically used by the Nukhba squad to direct their attacks.

Furthermore, as Kaplan confirms, the Army has deployed over 300,000 soldiers across the country and tens of thousands on the border with the Gaza Strip while continuing an intense air campaign.

The Israel Defense Forces have already carried out 2,687 targeted attacks on Hamas military objectives and are prepared for a ground operation. “The focus today is on finding the Nukhba terrorists,” Kaplan insists.
