Mexicans in the Europa League

The Mexicans in the Europa League will face a long journey, and their teams are not considered favorites, but they can put up a fight.

Clubs in the Europa League such as West Ham, AEK Athens, and Betis will carry the Mexican flag, much to the excitement of Mexican fans worldwide.

The 2023/2024 season has just begun, and the groups for European competitions have already been defined.

Thus, this year’s Europa League will feature four Mexicans who learned their fate in the tournament this Friday.

Mexicans in the Europa League will have a tremendous challenge ahead to progress in the second-best club competition in Europe.

The first of them is Edson Álvarez, who plays for West Ham in England. The midfielder recently arrived in London to wear the West Ham colors.

Álvarez has only played a few matches in England but has already made a positive impression, being a promising signing.

Álvarez will be playing in the Europa League with the ‘Hammers,’ who were placed in Group A alongside Olympiacos, Freiburg, and Backa Topola.

The other club with Mexicans in the Europa League is AEK Athens, represented by Orbelín Pineda and Rodolfo Pizarro.

Pineda already has a reputation in the Greek team, while Pizarro has just arrived. AEK was drawn into Group B along with Ajax, Marseille, and Brighton.

Finally, the tireless Andrés Guardado will play for Betis and lead the Mexicans in the Europa League.

Guardado has become an important part of the team and is in Group C alongside Rangers, Sparta Prague, and Aris Limassol.

The tournament will begin on Thursday, September 21, on a journey that will have its final destination at the Dublin Arena in the Republic of Ireland on May 22, 2024.
