Las Viudas de los Jueves on Netflix is the new Latin thriller; it is a reinterpretation of Claudia Piñeiro’s novel of the same name.

The Mexican version of Las Viudas de los Jueves is a fresh take on a novel that left its mark on the genre in Latin America.

According to some critics, Las Viudas de los Jueves marks a new chapter in Latin thrillers and a fresh perspective on suspense series.

While it is not entirely similar to the Argentine film from 2009, it is considered one of Netflix’s most interesting ventures in the Latin content genre this year.

La Viuda de los Jueves is a miniseries set to premiere on September 14th on the Netflix platform.

The cast of La Viuda de los Jueves includes:

Irene Azuela: Known for her work in films such as Quemar las naves (2007), Bajo la sal (2008), and Las oscuras primaveras (2014), Irene Azuela plays Teresa in Las Viudas de los Jueves.

Omar Chaparro: The Mexican actor and comedian, known for his roles in No manches Frida (2016), Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019), and Compadres (2016), plays Tano, Irene’s husband.

Mayra Hermosillo: Known for her roles in films such as En la piel de Lucía (2018), El mundo en que nací, and Perdidos en la Noche (2023), Mayra Hermosillo portrays Lala in Las Viudas de los Jueves.

Zuria Vega: The Mexican actress, known for her roles in Mi marido tiene familia (2017), Alma de hierro (2008), and Sexo y otros secretos (2007), takes on the role of Mariana.

Juan Pablo Medina: Known for his roles in La casa de las flores (2018), El Club de los Idealistas (2020), and Se busca papá (2020), Juan Pablo Medina portrays Ronie in Las Viudas de los Jueves.

Las Viudas de los Jueves is the story of Teresa , who discovers her husband and two of his friends dead, an event that shocks everyone in the luxury residence Los Altos de las Cascadas.

Doubts will arise about what really happened in the exclusive facility.

This new Netflix miniseries is based on Claudia Piñeiro’s novel of the same name.

The Argentine writer released the first edition of the novel Las Viudas de los Jueves in 2005 and received the Clarín Award a year later.

In 2009, under the direction of Marcelo Piñeiro, the mystery story was adapted into a feature film, which can also be found in the Netflix catalog.
