Former Republican President Donald Trump challenged Joe Biden to a debate in the run-up to the presidential election.

In this way Trump challenged Joe Biden, after summoning his main rival, the current Democratic leader to a debate in the face of the November elections.

“It is important, for the good of our country, that Joe Biden and I debate issues vital to America and the American people. That’s why I call for debates whenever, wherever, wherever,” the businessman wrote on his social network Truth and added that he is willing to accept that such an instance is led by “the corrupt Democratic National Committee (DNC) or its subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD)”.

A response is expected, as Trump challenged Joe Biden to a debate, and leaves the stage set for a big political TV show.

The proposal came as a surprise to many since Trump refused to participate in the Republican debates organized in recent months, arguing that he gained nothing by sharing the limelight with the rest of the aspirants, far behind in the race.

The message came just hours after Super Tuesday, the most important day of the U.S. presidential primaries, when the largest number of delegates -more than 35 percent- are distributed in a single day.

Thus, the delegates for each candidate were distributed in 995 and 89 for the Republican aspirants, and 1,497 and 0 for the Democrats respectively.

However, both Biden and Trump woke up this Wednesday with the news that their opponents announced the end of their campaigns.

The former governor of South Carolina and ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, communicated her decision during a speech in Charleston in which she assured to be full of gratitude for the avalanche of support” received “but the time has come to suspend my campaign” since “I said I wanted Americans to make their voices heard and I have done it”.

In this regard, the representative of Minnesota and Biden’s main rival within the party, Dean Phillips, declared in a radio interview with WCCO that “I am going to suspend my campaign” although unlike the previous case he assured that “I will be, at this moment, supporting President Biden, I will do everything humanly possible to ensure Biden’s reelection this November because the options are very clear”.
