Country music singer Ingrid Andress made headlines this July 15 while performing the national anthem prior to the MLB home run derby.
It was clear that something wasn’t right for Ingrid Andress, and it wasn’t the best time to state it; she was reportedly intoxicated during her much-criticized rendition of the U.S. anthem this Monday at the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby and will be seeking treatment.
On the matter, country music singer Ingrid Andress, confirmed what everyone suspected.
This Tuesday, country music singer Ingrid Andress posted a statement on her verified social media account that read, “I’m not going to fool you all, I was drunk last night.”
And she assured that she needs help, so she will go to a care center.
“Today I will check into a center to get the help I need,” she wrote. “That was not me last night. I apologize to the MLB, to all the fans and to this country that I love so much for that performance.”
In her post, country singer Ingrid Andress ended the note by saying, “I’ll let everyone know what rehab is like. I hear it’s super fun.”
Much like Roseanne Barr’s performance at a game between the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds in 1990 and Fergie at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game, people have had a lot to say about Andress’ performance.

Country Music Singer Ingrid Andress: Rise to Fame
Andress got her first brush with fame when she performed on the second season of NBC’s a cappella singing competition “The Sing-Off” as part of the group known as Pitch Slapped in 2010.
The group was eliminated early on, but Andress returned to the show the following season as part of the group Delilah.
That season of the series was won by the group Pentatonix.
Country singer Ingrid Andress released her first album, “Lady Like”, in 2020. It reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. A year earlier, her single “More Hearts Than Mine” reached the Billboard Hot 100.
She returned to that chart in 2021, thanks to the single “Wishful Drinking” with Sam Hunt.
Andress was nominated for a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2021, though she ultimately lost to rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
“Lady Like” was also nominated for Best Country Album, while her song ‘More Hearts Than Mine’ was nominated for Best Country Song.
Two years later, “Wishful Drinking” earned a Grammy nomination for best country duo/group performance.
Her most recent album, “Good Person,” was released in 2022.
Meanwhile, Andress shared on social media this week that she was “very excited” to announce her new single “Colorado 9,” which will be released next week.
