The U.S. Embassy in Israel: Maximum precautions in Jerusalem
The U.S. Embassy in Israel on Friday, April 19, ordered its employees and their families to limit their travel in the Jewish nation.
Explosions were allegedly reported in Iran; and so far their origin has not been confirmed.
According to the official website of the U.S. Embassy in Israel, government employees and their relatives are prohibited from personal travel beyond major cities, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Beersheba.
The security notice from the U.S. embassy in Israel, which will remain in effect until further notice, also restricts travel into northern Israel, adjacent to the border with Lebanon, where the Israeli Army and the Hezbollah terrorist group have been exchanging gunfire almost daily since October.
The U.S. Embassy in Israel urged its citizens to remain “cautious” as “security incidents often occur without warning.”
“The security situation remains complex and can change quickly,” the U.S. legation noted.
It also did not rule out the possibility of extending restrictions to other areas of Israel.

The security belt includes the Old City of Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank territories, depending on how events evolve.
Iran’s regime activated its defense system on Friday after explosions were reported in the city of Isfahan.
On the other hand, the U.S. embassy in Israel suspended commercial flights in several cities in the country.
Following the detonations, Tehran authorities denied that their territory had been attacked with missiles and assured that “no impact or large-scale explosion caused by any aerial threat has been reported so far” and that the situation in Isfahan was calm.
So far, the Iranian Space Agency also denied a missile attack.
“There are no reports of a missile attack for now,” its spokesman Hossein Dalirian said on his X social network account.
Meanwhile, the Irna news agency said the explosions caused “no major damage” and said Tehran’s two airports had resumed activity throughout the morning.

State television indicated, for its part, that the drones came from inside the country, something that has happened in the past, the last known case in April 2023, when a military complex was attacked with three drones in Isfahan.
For its part, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed Friday that there has been no damage to Iran’s nuclear facilities following the explosions in the center of the country.
Attacks on Iran
In parallel, different sources reported explosions in southern Syria, a country allied to Tehran.
The NGO Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported explosions in the provinces of Sweida and Deraa “at a time when Israeli aircraft were flying intensively over the region”.
According to Rayan Maarouf, an activist with the local anti-government media Suwayda 24, “there were attacks on a Syrian army radar position in the west of Sweida province.”

Last weekend, Iran launched an attack with more than three hundred drones and missiles against Israel in retaliation for an alleged Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus, in which seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were killed.
The Israeli government has since insisted that it would respond to the attack, but without giving any details and despite international calls for restraint to prevent the conflict from becoming regionalized.
