President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed the death of a student from the Raúl Isidro Burgos Rural Normal School.
Likewise, he informed that he will request the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to attract the investigation of the case of the death of a normalista in the protests in Guerrero.
During the morning press conference this Friday, headed from Michoacán, the leader of the Executive lamented the events that occurred during the night of March 7 in Chilpancingo.
“First that it is very regrettable that this situation has arisen one day after a protest takes place at the National Palace, which is already known. However, they are different things, because this is unfortunately happening in Chilpancingo,” he stated.
He pointed out that the authorities of Guerrero maintain that the vehicle in which the young people were traveling had a robbery report, for which reason, together with the security cabinet, he determined to request the FGR to attract the case and to investigate everything that happened.
“In order to clarify what happened and punish those responsible, so that it is well investigated”.
Additionally, the federal president sent his condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the victim after confirming the death of a normalista in the protests in Guerrero.
“He was coming from Tixtla because there are celebrations of the Normal de Ayotzinapa, there are three days of festivities in Tixtla, so there is this link, this relationship,” he added.

In addition to the mortal victim, López Obrador indicated that there is one injured, “apparently not seriously.”
President López Obrador took advantage of the issue to ask the fathers and mothers of the 43 disappeared from Ayotzinapa not to attend the campaign events of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, presidential candidate of Morena, Partido del Trabajo (PT) and Partido Verde Ecologista de México (PVEM), this after they warned that they would be present at them to demand justice.

However, hours later it was reported that the 23-year-old victim, identified as Yanqui Rothan Gómez Peralta, died as a result of a traumatic brain injury caused by a bullet.

In addition, the SSP said that a handgun and useful cartridges were found in the vehicle, as well as three bags of a crystalline substance and beers.
After the confrontation and the reported death of the student, it was reported that normalistas were present in Chilpancingo and, with stones, firecrackers and Molotov cocktails, attacked the Municipal Police facilities. They also set fire to an official vehicle.
After the response of the authorities, the students returned to the headquarters of the Rural Normal School, located in Tixtla, aboard trucks that they had been holding since earlier.
