Exploring the Cast of The Wedding Cottage: A Deep Dive into Hallmark’s Charming Characters

The cast of The wedding Cottage comprised a group of actors who brought to life a production that captivated thousands.

The story showcases the cast of The Wedding Cottage, where a wedding guide creator must convince an uninspired artist and owner of a special wedding cottage to renovate the abandoned venue.

Then, in that cottage, they host a couple who won a contest for their dream wedding.

The cast of The Wedding Cottage is led by Erin Krakow and Brendan Penny.

Erin Krakow plays Vanessa, a former wedding planner turned author of a new wedding guide.

To boost sales, she is organizing a dream wedding with all expenses paid for a deserving couple.

In true Hallmark fashion, this couple is Sergeant Scott (Drew Henderson) and his fiancée Amy (Matreya Scarrwener), whose parents and grandparents were married at The Wedding Cottage (and yes, her parents have passed away).

There are just a few problems: the couple needs to get married in a month before Scott, who is on active duty, is transferred to Germany.

Additionally, The Wedding Cottage is closed, and as Vanessa discovers when she drives to Vermont for an inspection, it has also deteriorated.

Enter Evan (Brendan Penny from Chesapeake Shores), a sculptor with a creative block, an impending deadline, and ownership of the cottage.

Evan is holed up in a workshop adjacent to the cottage, hoping to find inspiration, and has no plans to enter the wedding business.

He also has no intention of letting anyone else use the cottage for weddings until Vanessa promises that the repairs won’t interfere with his sculpting.

Thus begins a story where both find themselves embarking on a new chapter in their lives.

But the most important question is whether the wedding is doomed to fail or if they will achieve one of the most challenging goals of their lives.

According to some experts, the cast of The Wedding Cottage is one of the best for a television production.

The Cast of The Wedding Cottage: Main Actors

The cast of The Wedding Cottage captures us with a simple story, yet full of ingredients that engage the audience.

The dialogues are quite tender, filled with sweetness, and for some reason, they captivate lovers of romantic stories.

Erin Krakow: Perfect for the Role

Erin Krakow has graced both stage and screen throughout her acting career.

She is a classically trained actress who graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Juilliard School.

She played lead roles in several productions at the prestigious school, including Viola and Sebastian in Twelfth Night, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Yelena in Black Russian.

In addition to her work at Juilliard, Krakow has appeared in many notable theatrical roles, including Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest and Shelby in the stage adaptation of Steel Magnolias.

Krakow has transitioned from stage to screen, securing regular, recurring, and guest-starring roles in major television series.

She guest-starred on ABC’s Castle, CBS’s NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS, and Amazon/Sony’s Good Girls Revolt.

Born in Philadelphia, Krakow grew up in South Florida, where she attended Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts.

She continued her acting studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. She now resides in Los Angeles when not filming in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Brendan Penny: An Excellent Captivator

Brendan Penny, an actor with an extensive list of television credits, has co-starred in Hallmark Channel’s family drama Chesapeake Shores for five seasons.

Penny’s recent credits include Hallmark Channel’s original movies The Wedding Cottage, In Merry Measure, The Charm Bracelet (for which Brendan received a 2021 Leo Award nomination), and starred in the Vineyard film anthology alongside Rachael Leigh Cook.

Outside the Hallmark world, Penny had a recurring role in the BH90210 reboot as Jennie Garth’s love interest.

Prior to that, he starred in the award-winning CTV/ABC police drama Motive for four seasons, produced by the makers of Dexter and The Mentalist.

Originally from Ottawa, Penny moved to Vancouver after college to pursue an acting career. He studied at the Lyric School of Acting and began his professional career in 2003.

After a series of guest-starring roles on shows like Showtime’s The L Word, ABC Family’s Kyle XY, and The WB’s Smallville, Penny landed his first regular role on CTV’s Whistler, which aired in the US on Nickelodeon’s teen channel The N Network.

Shortly after Whistler ended in 2009, Penny secured a regular role on The N’s The Assistants alongside Michael B. Jordan.

Other television credits include the Reelz Channel miniseries Ring of Fire and guest roles on numerous series, including CBS’s Flashpoint, AMC’s The Killing, and The CW’s Supernatural.

About Evan and Vanessa

There are some criticisms despite the connection that is evident from beginning to end, but there are some details.

For some, they err on the side of subtle intensity that should have been softened, considering the tone of the plot. However, this also provides balance to the story.

Regarding the romantic lead, there are moments when Krakow managed to exaggerate Vanessa’s seriousness to the point of silliness.

You’ll laugh out loud when you see how Vanessa handles a leaf blower, for example. The movie could have had a bit more of that energy.

Evan is stuck with a property he refuses to let flourish, so it would have been satisfying to see him and his art open up and start to thrive while allowing this almost mythical property to become what it was meant to be.

Despite all this, the details in the story, and some script flaws, the cast of The Wedding Cottage delivers and has a solid foundation, including a sense of an inhabited place.

However, like the main structure, the story and central romance needed a bit of renovation.
