Latinos kidnapped by Hamas hold out hope for their release, but only a cease-fire could give them a better chance.
There are about 100 families who do not lose hope of seeing their loved ones kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, 2023.
Among the more than 100 hostages, there are 12 Latinos kidnapped by Hamas: 9 Argentines, 1 Mexican, 1 Colombian and 1 Brazilian.
Their families live every day in the hope that the extremist group and the Israeli government will reach a cease-fire that will allow their possible release.
These are the Latin American hostages still held by Hamas, according to information provided to CNN en Español by the Israeli Embassy in Argentina, family members and public statements by the authorities of those countries.

Latinos kidnapped by Hamas
One of the Latinos kidnapped by Hamas is Shiri Silberman Bibas, daughter of José Silberman, an Argentinean who was found dead together with his wife, the Peruvian Margit Shnaider, whose death was confirmed by the Peruvian Foreign Ministry in October 2023.
Shiri has been held captive with her two young children, aged 1 and 4, since October 7.
Other Latinos kidnapped by Hamas include brothers David and Ariel Cunio and are part of the list of hostages with dual Israeli and Argentine nationality believed to be still being held by Hamas in Gaza, according to the Israeli Embassy in Argentina.
Sharon Aloni Cunio, David’s wife, told Anderson Cooper that she and their twin daughters, Yuli and Emma, were released last year during the late November 2023 truce.
However, the news was bittersweet as she had to leave David behind.
Eitan and Iair Horn, two Argentine-Israeli brothers, have been missing since last October 7, when Hamas stormed Kibbutz Nir Oz, near the Gaza border, said their father Itzik Horn, in an interview with CNN en Español in October 2023.
The Israeli Embassy in Argentina includes Eitan, 37, and Iair, 45, in the list it provided to CNN en Español of Argentine hostages believed to still be held in Gaza.
Lior Rudaeff, 61, who arrived at Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak at age 8 with his parents and sister, is also Argentine.
Rudaeff was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, according to his cousin Micaela Rudaeff. CNN is trying to contact Rudaeff’s family directly.
Rudaeff is a member of the community security brigade, according to Bring Our People Home.
Another Latino kidnapped by Hamas is 31-year-old Mexican Orion Hernandez Radoux, was at the Nova Festival on October 7, 2023 when numerous Hamas fighters launched the attack on Israel, including the rural farming area near the Gaza border where the music festival was being held.
The young Franco-Mexican man attempted to flee the attack, but was intercepted and kidnapped by Hamas members while traveling on the road with his girlfriend.
His father, Sergio Hernandez, told CNN en Espanol in January of this year that he is still hopeful that his son will return alive.

Another victim is Elkana Bohbot worked at the electronic music festival attacked by Hamas on October 7.
Through a video broadcast by the extremist organization on Telegram, his wife Rebecca Gonzalez, a Colombian living in Israel, was able to learn that her husband is one of those kidnapped.
A Brazilian, Michel Nisenbaum is considered a hostage of Hamas, after disappearing on October 7, 2023 when the war began, the Israeli Embassy in Brasilia told CNN Brazil.
A possible agreement is expected, and if it comes to pass, to be implemented in several phases. In the first, Hamas has proposed releasing women – including Israeli military women – as well as the elderly, sick and wounded.
