Marcelo Guital is known as the man behind Benedictino water, which he sold to Coca-Cola in 2008 for USD 5,000,000. If Coca-Cola took an interest, it’s because it’s a product of quality and potential.

Despite his successes, Guital’s journey also includes failures, which is why he is considered one of the great Chilean entrepreneurs.

He is a man who has faced setbacks; before the success of Benedictino, he faced financial difficulties, but he has intelligently learned from his failures, making him stronger.

Marcelo Guital Prieto doesn’t hold a professional title; he is simply an ambitious entrepreneur with a desire to improve himself every day.

He is the third of three siblings, and ironically, his engineer brothers work for him. He became known for innovation and entrepreneurship by creating Benedictino water, a product that revolutionized the bottled water market and was later sold to The Coca-Cola Company.

Today, his entrepreneurial spirit is expressed through Guital & Partners, the first company in Chile dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation in brand creation.

He was a manager at a computer company, but he was let go. He became convinced that people in Chile weren’t drinking enough water, and that’s where his future might lie.

He was right. Today, he has partnered with Gabriel, Bruno, and Raymond Puntous to market premium mineral water called Aonni, sourced from an aquifer near the Strait of Magellan.

With Aonni, they are expanding to Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico, in addition to domestic supermarkets.

But his enthusiasm is not limited to water; he is also excited about Isofrut, a company owned by Bernardo Fontaine Talavera, with whom he has also partnered to transform the fruit and snack market.

They specialize in lyophilized fruits, where the water is removed while retaining all the nutrients. These are small snack-sized bags for healthy snacks, in line with the new law.

He also has successful partnerships with large companies. One example is his collaboration with the fruit exporter Subsole, owned by Miguel Allamand, Ricardo Ariztía, and the Prohens brothers, among others.

For these reasons and many more, Guital is one of the great entrepreneurs of Chile.
