Ecuador’s President Appoints His Cabinet
Ecuador’s president appointed his cabinet at the beginning of a term aimed at bringing stability to Ecuador’s political sector.
On Thursday, November 23, Ecuador’s President, Daniel Noboa, swore in the heads of ministerial portfolios and secretariats who will be part of his Executive team at the Carondelet Palace.
The president of Ecuador appointed his cabinet, highlighting María Gabriela Sommerfeld, who will be in charge of Foreign Relations and Mobility.
On the other hand, Sonsoles García was appointed to Industries, Foreign Trade, Investments, and Fisheries; Giancarlo Lofredo in Defense, Roberto Luque in Transportation and Public Works, Franklin Palacios in Agriculture and Livestock, and Mónica Palencia in the Ministry of Government.
In addition, Ecuador’s president appointed his cabinet with names like Andrés Guschmer in Sports; Andrea Arrobo in Energy and Mines, Sade Fritschi in the Environment, Niels Olsen in Tourism, Humberto Plaza in Urban Development and Housing, Daniel Calderón in Education, Ivonne Núñez Figueroa in Labor, Romina Muñoz in Culture, and Zaida Rovira in Economic and Social Inclusion.

Likewise, Noboa appointed Mishel Mancheno as the Legal Secretary of the Presidency and Sariha Moya as the head of the National Planning Secretariat (Senplades).
Roberto Izurieta will occupy the General Secretariat of Communication.
Similarly, Arturo Félix will serve as the Secretary of Public Administration, and Gabriela Ochoa Ochoa as the Director of the National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senae).
During his swearing-in before the Assembly, he stated that “few cabinets in history” of the country would be “as diverse” as the one he would announce.
Noboa, at 35 years old, will hold power for 15 months to complete the constitutional term of the now former president Guillermo Lasso, who in May decreed “cross-death” to dissolve the Parliament and call for general elections.
Noboa’s cabinet is diverse, young, and female, with several of the most important portfolios being led by women.
Daniel Noboa’s childhood friend, Arturo Felix Wong, will act as the Secretary-General of Public Administration and Cabinet of the Presidency.
Mishel Mancheno was appointed as the Legal Secretary of the Presidency.
Sariha Moya, initially announced as Minister of Economy, was appointed as the National Planning Secretary.
Roberto Izurieta is the new Secretary of Communication, and Marissa Péndola, the General Secretary of the Presidency Administration.
